Awesome New Google Products Worth Owning at Work and at Home

When it comes to innovation, Google simply isn’t happy being just a search engine.  They’ve branched out into everything from wearable digital apparel to home accessories and much more.  Here at UVIYO, we’re always looking at new trends, ideas and products that help make life easier or more exciting – and these new Google products do just that.  Here’s what we learned:

Google Home

Much like Amazon’s Alexa system, Google Home is an automated program that works with Google Assistant (more on that below) to handle a variety of tasks at home.  With your permission, Google Home can learn more about you and your preferences and keep you up to date by letting you know the weather, any appointments or events you have scheduled and much more.  You can also use Google Home to control your smart devices such as your smartphone or smart-enabled TV.

Google Chromecast Ultra

And speaking of TV, Google Chromecast Ultra takes your existing TV and turns it into something extraordinary. Chromecast Ultra plugs into your TV’s existing HDMI port and lets you stream 4K Ultra HD and HDR picture quality over your existing WiFi network. It works with your iPhone, iPad, Android phone or laptop as a remote to stream thousands of “Cast enabled” apps including YouTube, Netflix, Spotify, Hulu, Pandora and more.

Google WiFi

Google WiFi replaces your bulky, out of date router for fast, reliable WiFi signals in any room in your home. Google WiFi allows you to stream from multiple devices simultaneously.  Watch Netflix on your TV while streaming Pandora on your Google Home and much more. With the built-in Network Assist feature, you can avoid clogging up your WiFi connection by enjoying the fastest speeds with intelligent routing.  Depending on the size of your home, you may need more than one WiFi device.  Google recommends one for homes or apartments up to 1500 square feet, two for 1500-3000 square feet and three for larger homes.

Google Assistant

Much like Alexa from Amazon or Siri from Apple, Google Assistant is a smart device that gives you your own portable Google in the palm of your hand. From navigating your photos to finding your flight schedule to helping you plan your day, the Google Assistant can make reservations, book tickets and much more.

But what could would such a system be if it only worked as a standalone device?  If you’re thinking of investing in other Google products such as the Pixel phone or Google Home, you’ll be glad to know that Google Assistant works seamlessly with these devices as well, helping to keep you organized and on track despite your busy, hectic lifestyle.

Google Daydream View VR Headset

All work and no play makes anyone stress out, which is why our last quick look at the latest and most innovative Google products is the Google Daydream, a virtual reality headset and controller.  Lightweight and easy to use, the Daydream lets you explore virtual worlds and play games in a truly immersive environment.  What’s more, the Daydream works with a number of VR-ready phones, including the new Google Pixel.

As you can see, Google is continually branching out into new and fascinating areas to help bring better focus, organization and fun to our lives – in a truly seamless and interconnected way.  If you’ve ever wanted to know what the future holds for digital technology, these devices can give you a glimpse, and it’s more exciting than any of us could have imagined!
